The Regional Animal Protection Society is continuing to mobilize to ensure continued, seamless services to animals and their people in the face of the ongoing health crisis.
All RAPS facilities are subject to continued, intensified sanitization procedures. Staff is practicing the most intensive cleaning and social distancing standards. Veterinarians, vet techs and support staff at the RAPS Animal Hospital are enhancing their already exceptional hygiene and sanitization protocols.
RAPS Animal Hospital
The RAPS Animal Hospital is open. Please book a diagnostic admission and a staff member will meet you and create a smooth, minimal-interaction process for you and your pets.
Visitors to the RAPS Animal Hospital will be asked to:
- Call us when they arrive at 604-242-1666
- Stay in their car
- A RAPS staff member will come and get your family member for drop off or consultation
- We will discuss your case over the phone while you are in your car
- You can then wait in your car or come back later
- We will come and meet you at your car for pick-up and medical instructions

Financial Support
We know that many people are now going through difficult financial hardships and we want to help. RAPS Animal Hospital is a charity hospital that provides assistance to the public. Our veterinary hospital has programs in place to assist families with companion animals, especially if a family member is temporarily unemployed or otherwise facing financial challenges due to the health crisis (or any other factor). We offer no-interest wellness payment plans to ensure no family is forced to make life-and-death decisions for their pet based on ability to pay.
Pet Food Delivery
The RAPS Animal Hospital offers online ordering and delivery of our pet food and supplies. (www.myvetstore.ca/keraps). During this health crisis, we are waiving delivery fees on orders over $50. In addition to food, stock up on cat litter, toys and treats!
RAPS Animal Shelter
The RAPS Animal Shelter is open by appointment only. Strict protocols for physical distancing and continual disinfecting are in place. Our top priority is the health and wellness of our visitors and staff. In Call 604-275-2036 or email info@rapsbc.com to make an appointment.
RAPS Cat Sanctuary
Visiting hours at the RAPS Cat Sanctuary are cancelled until further notice.
RAPS Thrift Stores
The RAPS Thrift Stores are now open Mondays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Strict protocols for physical distancing and continual disinfecting are in place. Our top priority is the health and wellness of our customers, staff and volunteers. In future, we intend to open again Fridays and Saturdays.
Donations
Due to the incredible volume we are dealing with right now – and the extremely limited space we have available for storage – we are forced to limit the receipt of donated items. We cannot accept furniture right now. We are also not able to pick up items at this time.
Donations are accepted two days a week at each location – but only until our bins are full and we are forced to gratefully decline additional donations.
Donations are accepted:
- Francis location — Mondays and Wednesdays
- Granville location — Tuesdays and Thursday
If we are not able to accept your donation on a given day, we ask people to go to the other store the next day. Thank you for your generosity, patience and understanding.
