Volunteer of the Month: Diana Leung

RAPS is all about the animals. But everything we do is possible because of people. This month, we celebrate Diana Leung, who volunteers at the RAPS Animal Hospital.

What is your role at RAPS?

Cleaning crew at the RAPS Animal Hospital.

How long have you been volunteering and/or working with RAPS?

Started May 2025.

What makes you committed to RAPS?

I love animals and want to find a meaningful way to help with this cause.

What is your favourite / least favourite part of your job?

My favorite part of this job is seeing the staff each week caring for a new group of animals.

My least favorite part of this job is that at times, the job could be a bit monotonous. It would be nice to have a bit more variety in the duties as well as having an opportunity to collaborate with other volunteers or staff member.

Tell us about yourself.

I have lived and work in Vancouver most of my life. Currently I am living with my husband and two high school kids.

What do you do in your spare time?

I enjoy traveling and checking out new restaurants with my family and friends.

Do you have pets? Tell us about them!

Currently, we have one dog, Chipper, who is approximately eight years old. He is a mix-terrier rescue that we adopted just before the pandemic. Chipper is currently living his best life, enjoying frequent daily walks and hikes. His favorite activity includes going to off-leash dog parks, playing with other dogs and getting muddy.

One of our favorite activities together as a family is to take Chipper for weekly hikes around BC. During the week, I enjoy walking Chipper with a group of dog owners in our neighborhood.

Diana, Thanks for everything you do!
