Meet the Humans: Dr. Satveer Dadrwal

RAPS is all about the animals! But everything we do is possible because of some aMAZing humans. This week, meet Dr. Satveer Dadrwal, a veterinarian with a global reach!

Tell us about yourself.

I was born and brought up in a farmer family of Rajasthan (India), did my schooling in our village school. I graduated from veterinary college Bangalore in South India. After graduation, in 2012, I worked in New Delhi as a veterinarian. I moved to Australia in 2015, where I spent my time exploring the beautiful island country and doing volunteer work with various non-profit organizations for animal causes. In 2018, I moved to Canada with my spouse and our beautiful kitty Tintin.

What is your favourite part of the job?

Talking to pet parents and listening to their problems and giving the best veterinary care to their fur babies.

What is your least favourite part of the job?

No matter how hard we try our medical knowledge and tools to save a pet, sometimes we have to surrender to God’s wish. Performing euthanasia is the hardest and least favourite part of my job.

Why do you choose to work at the not-for-profit RAPS Animal Hospital?

Working at RAPS gave me reason to pay back to society by helping so many helpless and surrendered cats at the cat sanctuary. Feels immense satisfaction.

In your spare time …

I spend my time exercising, hiking and playing with our fur babies, Tintin (cat) and Maple (dog). I love traveling. In the future, I want to help stray animals in India.
