RAPS Animal Hospital Successes
If you were at the amazing gala at the River Rock (almost a year ago!), you helped us launch the sparkling new, state-of-the-art RAPS Animal Hospital. It’s now up and running, providing care to RAPS animals and pets from throughout the community.
The transformation of the space from an under-utilized storage area to an extraordinary, full-service veterinary hospital was a major project.

Serving our animals – and your
Since we opened in February – on Family Day! – we have welcomed so many of you and your animal companions into the hospital. The animals at the RAPS Cat Sanctuary and the City of Richmond Animal Shelter, as well as those in our fostering network, are coming here for their care.
We are also now the vet hospital of choice for people who want quality care for their own pets, while knowing that revenue is reinvested into RAPS to allow us to save and improve the lives of even more animals.

Caring for animals in need
What’s more … because we now have our own animal hospital, we are able to provide much-needed services to companion animals in households with low incomes. We know that people are sometimes forced to choose between providing vet care for their animals or taking care of their own needs. Since we opened, we have provided about $200,000 in partial or fully subsidized care to animals in need.
We’re all about animals – and people!
We’re here for the animals. But we would be nothing without people. We have assembled a stellar team of veterinarians, vet techs, assistants and other staff to provide quality service to the animals and people we serve.
