Panther Pups & Puddles Walkathon a huge success
It’s incredible what the determination of a few animal-loving young people can do!
In a fun event that inspired parents and other participants, the Panther Cheer Athletics Junior Generals and Senior Immortals teams organized a five-kilometre human and canine walk Saturday in support of RAPS. About 100 humans showed up and many walked with their fuzzy companions.
The Panther Pups and Puddles Walkathon had all of those – Panthers, pups and puddles.
It also featured the Z95.3 FM Z Squad on location, giveaways for the kids and pets and support from Tisol, PetSmart, Tim Hortons and Nature’s Path.
“I just want to give a huge thanks to all the kids and parents of Panther Cheer who made this amazing event happen,” says Mandy Lichtmann, RAPS’ Community Development Manager. “The animals of RAPS depend on the support of the public. And it is especially inspiring that a new generation of animal-loving folks are stepping up to help. This is such a good reminder that you don’t need to be a rich philanthropist to make a big difference in the lives of animals. Because RAPS does small miracles on tight budgets, this kind of event makes a huge impact for our organization and the animals we care for.”
RAPS also thanks all the walkers, the sponsors and those who pledged support to participants.
Huge thanks also to Radina Droumeva for capturing the fun in photos.
“We’re looking forward to doing it again next year,” says Lichtmann.
