Spring kittens need your support

Spring means renewed life in so many ways. For RAPS, it means an influx of kittens born to feral, stray or abandoned mothers.

RAPS is proud to be a NO-KILL animal-serving agency. That means we ensure that these kittens and cats are cared for until they find a forever home through the RAPS-run City of Richmond Animal Shelter – and if that doesn’t happen, they will live out their lives surrounded by love and security in the comfort of the RAPS Cat Sanctuary.

The RAPS Cat Sanctuary is the only one of its kind in Canada – and one of the largest in North America … a permanent home for hundreds of felines, whose lives are enriched by hundreds of volunteers and visitors. In turn, they enrich the lives of all those they come in contact with … volunteers, staff, people who love animals but who cannot for various reasons live with them, folks with disabilities, schoolkids and seniors. It’s a really magical place that is open to the public on Sunday afternoons from 1 to 4 p.m.

Right now, we have about 25 cats and kittens at the City of Richmond Animal Shelter and more than 400 at the Sanctuary.

FelineFriday-Kittens-Blog3-031017This year’s spring kittens are already arriving at RAPS. It is our responsibility to the animals and people we serve to ensure that each one receives the medical care they require, spaying and neutering and an assessment to determine whether they are adoptable. When they are adoptable, we will be letting you know who is available!

In the meantime, we are asking for your support.

Everything RAPS does for these animals is possible because of the support we receive from our community.

Your donations help with veterinary care costs as well as helping purchase kitten milk replacement, medications, heat pads and other necessities. Will you help us continue to support the hundreds of cats in our care as well as prepare for the spring kittens?
